Starting at the early age of 7, I began to cultivate what has become my life-long passion for horses, and horse showing. With the help of supportive parents, as a junior rider, I was exposed to high caliber instruction by the likes of Lou Ragonetti, Brenda Watson, and “Spank” Deemer. While pursuing a degree in Psychology, I was privileged to have the opportunity to also work with trainer Don Stewart, and to travel to America’s most prestigious horse shows and further expand my training knowledge.
Waters Edge was originally founded in Jacksonville, FL with the help of my friend and then client Jackie Cook in 1980. Fortunate to have a top-notch clientele, Waters Edge went on to produce such great horses as The Sportcaster, Knock on Wood and Mr. Hollywood as well as many other successful horses and ponies. In 2000, I decided to return to my home town of Winter Park. Focused on training talented, young horses, it was during this time that I developed such horses as Centerfold Z, Maybe on Monday, and French Toast to name a few. Then, in 2004, I was able to lease the beautiful property where Waters Edge in located today. It is here in Winter Park where we continue to develop our rider’s skills and great horses like Mr. November, Silhouette, Miss America, Allegiance, Face to Face, as well as several young, up-and-coming horses we are excited about!
